If you meet the April financial aid priority deadline, you can expect to receive your next year&#8217;s aid award notification in May or June.<\/p>\n<h3>Filing for Financial Aid<\/h3>\n<p>Complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/fafsa.gov\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/a>. For more info, <span class=\"collapseomatic \" id=\"id69de4522c20a3\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"&lt;strong&gt;click here.&lt;\/strong&gt;\"    ><strong>click here.<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-id69de4522c20a3\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>You must complete a FAFSA every year that you wish to be considered for need-based aid.<\/li>\n<li>The FAFSA can be completed any time after October 1st. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: <strong>You do not need to complete the CSS Profile after your first year at St. Olaf College. Also, you do<\/strong> <strong>not need to send us copies of your or your parents&#8217; federal tax returns unless we request them from you.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A common question that students ask is: Do I need to file a tax return because of my work study or summer earnings?
