The amount of the grant is based on the\u00a0<a title=\"Determining Your Need\" href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/financialaid\/financial-aid\/prospective-students\/how-to-apply-for-financial-aid\/determining-your-need\/\">amount of need the family demonstrates<\/a>\u00a0through completion of the\u00a0<a title=\"CSS\/Financial Aid Profile\" href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/financialaid\/financial-aid\/prospective-students\/how-to-apply-for-financial-aid\/css-profile\/\">CSS\/Financial Aid Profile<\/a>. St. Olaf grants are funded through the generosity of alumni, parents and friends of the college, and other St. Olaf funds.<\/p>\n<h3>St. Olaf Scholarships<\/h3>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>St. Olaf offers competitive merit scholarships that recognize achievement and potential for academic, artistic, service, and leadership success. With the exception of the National Merit Scholarship program administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, merit scholarships are awarded on the basis of the application through the St. Olaf Admissions Office.<\/p>\n<p>Students may apply for as many scholarships as they wish.\u00a0 The total value of all merit scholarships cannot exceed half of the comprehensive fee, unless the family\u2019s demonstrated need exceeds that amount.
