Feel free to bring a bag lunch.<br \/>\n<strong>Melby Lecture<\/strong>\u00a0by Wendell Arneson on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 7:30-9 p.m. in Viking Theatre. Reception to follow in Flaten Art Museum. Music by David Hagedorn and Kevin Clements.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this retrospective, the viewer will witness Arneson\u2019s artistic journey from the late 1970\u2019s to present.<\/p>\n<p>Two St. Olaf College sculpture students, Anders Niensteadt and James Wilson received student research grants this past summer to create art that interprets Arneson\u2019s work in a three-dimensional way.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1978, Wendell has explored a variety of ideas, using various materials.\u00a0 He is, and always has been interested in the ideas and questions that transcend time, and, therefore, move from painting to painting. One cannot look at his work without noticing the threads that weave through it.\u00a0 As such, this retrospective will be exhibited by relationships, rather than in chronological order.
