This year our team is starting something new: weekly updates in Ole Insider to keep you informed about the services we offer, the COVID-19 situation on campus, and other health information relevant to you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are glad that you are here on campus. Now that everyone is gathered together from different areas geographically, it is not unusual to be getting sick. Making sure you wash your hands before you eat and after using the bathroom is the best way to be proactive in preventing you from getting sick. If you are feeling ill, put on a mask and take a COVID test.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/health\/who-we-are\">Who is on the team<\/a>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Sharon Momanyi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, APRN, CNP-A is a Nurse Practitioner who is able to assess, diagnose, and treat students for minor illnesses such as sore throat, ear pain, and minor acute injuries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Cindy Herda <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a medical assistant, and she is able to assist with nursing questions and triage. She runs the lab tests in the clinic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>April Baum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the health services coordinator, and the one you will talk with on the phone most often. She assists with scheduling students and answering questions regarding medical resources in the community.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>COVID-19 Updates<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New COVID-19 cases, week of 8\/28\/22-9\/4\/22: 15<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/covid-19\/health-reporting\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COVID-19 reporting form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to report symptoms, positive tests, exposures, or vaccination\/booster updates.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When to test<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: If you feel ill, take a COVID test. It is necessary to test again in 48 hours if the first test is negative, for a total of at least two tests. If you test negative and are still concerned you may have COVID-19, you may choose to test again 48 hours after the second test.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exposed to COVID-19<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Start wearing a mask right away and test five full days after the last time you were in close contact with a person with COVID-19.\u00a0 Day zero is the last day of close contact. If your day six test is negative, continue to wear a mask for 10 full days and repeat another test in 24 to 48 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back from Health Services!
