Distinction Project Proposal
Department of History
(Distinction guidelines used prior to Fall 2018)
Completed proposals with advisor’s approval are due to the Chair of the Distinction Committee (Professor Steven Hahn for 2018-’19) no later than January 4, 2019.
Proposals must include the following:
* a description of the project (50 – 100 words)
* explicit identification of the goals of your Distinction project (i.e., what you intend to accomplish with this project) and a timeline for completing the research, writing, and editing of the final paper (100 – 200 words)
* explanation of how the project will expand upon or differ from your seminar project or completed coursework (50 – 100 words)
* a working bibliography
Submit your finalized proposal as a PDF via e-mail to your advisor, who will then forward your proposal and his/her approval to the Chair of the Distinction Committee.
