Students are required to complete the I-9 form in order to work at St. Olaf College. We also ask students to complete a W-4 tax withholding form for payroll processing. Direct deposit is the preferred payment method during the summer for the Payroll Office. That form is also found below.

The I-9 form verifies an employee’s identity and establishes that the employee is eligible to accept employment in the United States. This form must be completed on or before the first day of employment. Click here for a list of acceptable documents to present to Human Resources.
The W-4 form is used to determine the correct amount of tax withholding to deduct from employees’ wages.
This form allows your earnings to be directly deposited into a checking or savings account. Tuition deduction is not an option during the summer. You can find your routing and account numbers on the bottom of a check. To ensure the numbers are accurate, please attach a voided check to this form if available.
To receive your W-2 form electronically you must opt-in via the Employee Self-Service site. On the left side of the screen, under Pay Information, you will see “Tax Documents (W-2)”. Click there to begin the process to opt-in. Here are additional instructions to assist you in the opt-in process. Student employees who do not opt-in will receive a paper copy of their W-2.
