Quick Reference Guide

This page serves as a quick reference guide for the New Phone System. If you can’t find what you need here, please reference the FAQs or Feature Codes pages.

Sangoma Phone:

  • To place a call on campus:
    1. Dial 4 digit extension and hit send.
  • To place an off-campus call:
    1. Dial all 10 digits (area code + exchange + NXXX) ex. 507-786-3xxx or 952-xxx-xxx. Do not dial a leading 9; that is no longer needed.
    2. Long distance calls do not require a 1, however, if you dial a 1 they should still go through.
  • To transfer a call:
    1. While on the call, press the TRNF button, enter the extension of the person you want to transfer the call to and press TRNF again.
  • To add a person to a call (3-way calling, conference calling):
    1. While on the call with one party, press the CONF button, call a second person and press CONF again for all 3 to be connected.
  • To change your status (Available, Chat, Away, DND, XA, or Unavailable):
    1. In Zulu click on the status listed next to your name in the upper left hand corner. This will bring up a small window, then click the carrot next to the status and select from the list of options.
  • To Forward your extension:
    1. *96 send
    2. System will ask for the number to forward to (XXXX) and then press #.
    3. To cancel the forward, press *96 send.
      1. NOTE: You can forward to a cell phone or other number off-campus; however, the called ID will look different when you receive a forwarded call.
  • To toggle Do Not Disturb (DND) mode:
    1. *76 send
    2. The system will confirm that you have turned DND on or off.
    3. *76 send again to toggle DND on/off.

Voicemail:

  • All voicemail messages will be delivered to you via email, you will not check voicemail on a phone.
  • To change greetings or record your name:
    1. Log into stoFaces, the site where you manage your online directory options, etc.
    2. Select the Voicemail option in the menu
    3. Follow the instructions on the screen to record your custom greeting, set an extended absence greeting, and/or record your name for a standard greeting.
  • To forward a Voicemail:
      1. Forward the email message that you received to the desired recipient.

Zulu:

  • To place a call on campus:
    1. Click on the keypad icon, which will bring up the keypad.
    2. Dial the 4 digit extension, the phone icon will turn green and the call will be placed once you click the handset button.
  • To place an off-campus call:
    1. Dial all 10 digits (area code + exchange + NXXX) ex. 507-786-3xxx or 952-xxx-xxx. Do not dial a leading 9; that is no longer needed.
    2. Long distance calls do not require a 1; however, if you dial a 1 they should still go through.
  • To transfer a call:
    1. While on the call, press the three dot icon by the search bar, and select Transfer.
    2. In the green box, enter the extension to transfer to.
    3. Press the button next to the original call to complete the transfer (circle with an arrow).
  • To change your status (Available, Chat, Away, DND, XA, or Unavailable):
    1. In Zulu click on the status listed next to your name in the upper left hand corner. This will bring up a small window, then click the carrot next to the status and select from the list of options.
  • To Forward your extension:
    1. *96 and then the green handset.
    2. System will ask fro the number to forward to (XXXX).
    3. To cancel the forward press *96 and green handset.
