Potential Verbs<\/b><\/p>\n

Potential verbs are used to say that someone “can” or “has the ability to” do something, or that something is possible<\/p>\n

Constructing potential verbs:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

ru<\/i>-verbs:<\/span>\u00a0 Drop the final –ru\u00a0<\/i>and add –rareru<\/i>\u00a0 Ex: \u898b\u308b -> \u898b\u3089\u308c\u308b<\/p>\n

u-<\/i>verbs:<\/span>\u00a0 Drop the final –u<\/i>\u00a0and add –eru<\/i>\u00a0 Ex:\u00a0 \u884c\u304f -> \u884c\u3051\u308b<\/p>\n

Irregular verbs:<\/span>\u00a0 \u304f\u308b -> \u3053\u3089\u308c\u308b, \u3059\u308b -> \u3067\u304d\u308b<\/p>\n
