Research Fellowship at the Kierkegaard Summer Institute
The Kierkegaard Library offers unpaid research fellowships for participation in the Kierkegaard Summer Institute (previously called the Summer Fellows Program) on an annual basis during the months of June and July. Research stays can vary from two to eight weeks, and participants gain access to resources of the Kierkegaard Library as well as on-campus housing. Learn more about summer housing for scholars.
The program welcomes junior and senior scholars, as well as students enrolled in graduate programs. Undergraduates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply to Undergraduate Research at the Kierkegaard Summer Institute.
Beyond use of the Library’s (and St. Olaf’s) physical and digital resources, Kierkegaard Summer Institute research fellows are invited into dialogue with the Library’s local and visiting community of scholars and students. Fellows are encouraged to join scheduled scholarly activities, such weekly in-person lectures, special seminars, and close reading of Kierkegaard in Danish. Fellows may be invited to present their research during their stay.
