Undergraduate Research at the Kierkegaard Summer Institute
The Kierkegaard Library invites advanced undergraduates and recent graduates from Bachelor programs to apply to Undergraduate Research at the Kierkegaard Summer Institute (previously called the Young Scholars Program).
Undergraduates and recent grads join an intensive, three-week close-reading and discussion group of Kierkegaard’s works, as well as producing an independent research paper. They also participate in weekly seminars with visiting scholars at the Kierkegaard Library, and may optionally join the Kierkegaard in Danish reading group. As participants in the program, students will gain access to resources of the Kierkegaard Library, as well as on-campus housing.
Funding: The Kierkegaard Library covers the cost of on-campus housing for all student participants. St. Olaf students also receive a stipend for living expenses.
Note: There are kitchens in the dorms, as well as other food options on campus. A handbook with more information is provided upon acceptance.
Dates: Undergraduate Research at the Kierkegaard Summer Institute takes place from June 5 – June 28, 2024.
St Olaf students applying for CURI opportunities (see below) will conduct research at the Kierkegaard Summer Institute throughout June and July.
