Latin American Studies Study Abroad\/Away<\/h3>\n

The <\/span>Smith Center for Global Engagement<\/span><\/a> provides opportunities to expand the liberal arts education learning globally and to local communities within the U.S.\u00a0 Programs are offered during January Term, fall semester, spring semester, and during an academic year.\u00a0 There is an application process for each of these programs and courses.\u00a0 Semester and year programs tend to remain the same from year to year with some minor changes.\u00a0 January Term programs can differ based on faculty availability, budgets, and programming.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Smith Center programs can be viewed on the <\/span>application database<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 Single searches and more advanced searches can be done to find a program within a student’s <\/span>area of study and interest<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 For more information attend a <\/span>101 Session: Intro to Study Abroad\/Away<\/span><\/i> or program info session (see <\/span>Smith Center Events<\/span><\/a> for more details), <\/span>meet with a Peer Advisor<\/span><\/a>, and visit the <\/span>Smith Center webpage<\/span><\/a> for program costs, application instructions, and additional information.<\/span><\/p>\n

Latin American Studies majors are encouraged to take advantage of the many study abroad\/away programs available to them. There are multiple opportunities to study abroad\/away in Latin America.\u00a0 The <\/span>Smith Center for Global Engagement<\/span><\/a> also works to update and add programs as circumstances change. Students who wish to count off-campus study towards the major and concentration must secure prior approval from the <\/span>Director of Latin American Studies<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
