data-autop=\"true\" data-livetext>\n\t\t\t<p>Staff pianists and <a href=\"#student-pianists\">student pianists<\/a> (listed below), and other area freelance pianists (see right for details) are all committed to a successful performance.\u00a0 Ask your studio teacher for guidance on whom to contact.<\/p>\n<p>Initiate communication with collaborative pianists as soon as pieces to be performed are chosen.\u00a0 Note the deadlines for requests: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>generally 30 days prior to any performance.\u00a0<\/strong> <\/span>Be prepared to provide <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">legible<\/span> paper copies of your pieces.\u00a0 Emailed .pdfs are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> sufficient unless approved by your pianist.<\/p>\n<p>Pianists should be informed<strong> immediately<\/strong> if a change of recital repertoire or recital date is being considered.\u00a0 Pianists may or may not be able to accommodate changes.<\/p>\n<p>Students engaging a freelance pianist <strong>must<\/strong> use a pianist from the approved collaborative pianist list, provided to their studio professors. Requests for juries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Pay for these performances includes a specified amount of collaborative preparation, which typically involves some rehearsal, playing the piece(s) during part of a lesson, performing the piece(s) during part of a studio class, and the performance itself.\u00a0 (See deadlines below.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For circumstances in which the college will not pay (studio classes, for example), students may pay a student pianist on a freelance basis. The current Music Department hourly rate is $15.
