B.A. and B.M. music degrees, however, require a primary focus in percussion.<\/p>\n<p>All candidates will be required to play along with a recording of their choosing to be selected from the following 400;\">Students will play along to recordings from three different songstyles.\u00a0 Students will select one option each from the Swing, Latin, and Ballad playlists found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1i7DqomVmxxIzlbaPLFaBAnZVlGtPYOgKr6_ZCK9K_80\/edit?tab=t.0\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and demonstrate timekeeping and appropriate stylistic elements for each genre.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Big Band Chart Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will select and play along with one of the four big charts in this folder.\u00a0 Specific instructions for each chart, as well as reference recordings, can be found <\/span><a
