All music major applicants will be automatically considered for scholarships.<br \/>We would like to encourage you to consider a work by composers from historically underrepresented groups.<\/p>\n<h4>Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>All candidates (Jazz\/Commercial Trombone applicants, please see separate requirements <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/musicadm\/audition-repertoire-requirements\/jazz-trombone-requirements\/\">here<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two or three contrasting selections from movements of sonatas, concertos, solo pieces, or \u00e9tudes. <em>Approximately 6-10 minutes total.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>One major scale of your choice \u2014 two octaves, ascending and descending (Please play with a slow or moderate tempo. Demonstration of beautiful sound and accurate pitch should be your goal.)<\/li>\n<li>Audition selections should demonstrate expressive phrasing, and varying articulation with an emphasis on sostenuto style while producing a resonant, beautiful timbre.<\/li>\n<li>Below are repertoire suggestions. However, feel free to choose any repertoire that you feel showcases your unique abilities and interests.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Etudes\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>&#8220;Forty Progressive Etudes for Trombone&#8221; by Sigmund Hering<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>&#8220;Studies in Legato&#8221; by Reginald Fink<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Solos<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Sonata in F Minor by G. P. Telemann (especially 1st movement)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Sonata in F Major by B. Marcello (especially 1st movement)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Vocalises by G. M.
