Starting this year, a few select hunters will be allowed to participate in an archery hunt of white-tailed deer in the Heath Creek area of the Natural Lands from December 10-31<\/strong>. <\/mark>Approximately 64 acres<\/strong> i<\/mark>s open to the hunt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of this hunt is to reduce the white-tailed deer population in the Heath Creek area. A reduced population will assist greatly with our on-going efforts to restore and enhance biodiversity in the Natural Lands.  Archers must apply for written permission<\/a> <\/strong>to participate in the hunt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications\/Preparations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications<\/a> <\/strong>are open September 1 \u2013 October 1 2025<\/mark><\/strong>. Preference will be given first to college employees and their families and staff\/college affiliates, then to local hunters. Accepted hunters will be notified as soon as possible. All hunters accepted to the archery hunt are expected to attend a pre-season meeting<\/strong><\/mark>, to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025<\/mark><\/strong>, before any stand or blind may be placed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
