The award, in the amount of $5000, is offered each year to the St. Olaf student who presents the best proposal for a 300-level independent research\u00a0course focusing on some aspect of Norwegian life. \u00a0Deadline in spring.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofn.com\/foundation\/scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sons of Norway Foundation scholarships<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>. Deadline March 1.<br \/>\nKing Olav V Norwegian-American Heritage Fund<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofn.com\/foundation\/scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scholarships to the Oslo International Summer School<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Lakselaget Foundation Scholarship Fund<\/strong><br \/>\nFor women from Minnesota to study in Norway or Norwegian women to attend a college or university in Minnesota or the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. GPA of 3.0 or better, Norwegians the equivalent. Application form available at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakselaget.org\/\">www.lakselaget.org<\/a>\u00a0under the &#8216;Foundation&#8217; tab. March 15 deadline.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amscan.org\/\"><strong>The American-Scandinavian Foundation<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nOffers fellowships and grants for advanced study or research in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Applicants must have completed their undergraduate education by the start of their project in Scandinavia, and must be United States citizens or permanent residents. Application Deadline November 1. Decisions announced March 15.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Normanna Lodge #52 of the Sons of Norway<\/strong><br \/>\nTwo $1,000.00 scholarships. Requirements: 3.5 GPA, completed at least two years of college, and intends to enroll in a program that leads to a concentration in Norwegian Studies.
