Michael Fuerstein has interests in social/political philosophy, social epistemology, American pragmatism (especially Dewey), and the moral and social aspects of the philosophy of science. His current research focuses on the epistemic aspects of liberalism and democracy. Outside of academia, he has performed and taught extensively as a jazz saxophonist and occasional pianist.
