This guide provides several resources for both undergraduate and post-graduate students to explore when raising money for internships and other experiences.<\/p>\n<h4>General Funding Resources<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiegogo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indiegogo<\/a><br \/>\nDonation-based fundraising campaigns for most anything \u2013 music, hobbyists, personal finance needs, charities, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldteach.org\/site\/c.buLRIbNOIbJ2G\/b.6178749\/k.61F2\/WorldTeach_Fundraising.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World Teach Fundraising Guide<\/a><br \/>\nProvides a comprehensive guide to procuring funds from friends and family, community organizations, corporations and other possible funders. Includes sample letters and flyers. Some resources are World-Teach specific.<\/p>\n<h4>Fellowships, Grants, and Scholarships<\/h4>\n<p>St. Olaf Fellowships and Scholarships<br \/>\nLearn more about funding opportunities for current St. Olaf students and recent graduates.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.grants.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grants.gov<br \/>\n<\/a>While governments are eligible, as well as for-profit and larger corporations, community-based groups are also eligible. These are probably more competitive, but a source nonetheless. They especially encourage underrepresented ethnic groups and people with disabilities to apply.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.philanthropy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philanthropy.com<\/a><br \/>\nThe\u00a0Chronicle of Philanthropy\u00a0includes a comprehensive list of grants and scholarships available. Some are huge, some are small. Look under \u201cdeadlines\u201d in the left hand border for a list of opportunities by category. Also provides information on how to fundraise for a non-profit, including regularly updated articles on things like new media. Subscribe for more information.<\/p>\n<h4>Music Grants<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/schubert.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Schubert Club\u2019s Special Grants Program<br \/>\n<\/a>The Schubert Club\u2019s Special Grants program\u00a0offers\u00a0grants and other\u00a0financial assistance to serious, talented music students who are seeking financial assistance to further their musical development. Grants typically range from $500 \u2013 $1000 and are used for special music education projects such as summer camp, workshops, etc. Applicants must be between the ages of 12 and 30 (32 for vocalists) and reside in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin. \u00a0Note: The costs of on-going lessons or school tuition, transportation or housing are not supported by Special Grants awards.<\/p>\n<h4>Additional Tips and Ideas<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.generalcode.com\/resources\/grant-writing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tips on Grant-Writing<\/a><br \/>\nFree tips on grant-writing along with trend articles. Creative ideas on fundraising events, like a bake-off bakesale, Christmas light removal, gourd tossing and a What\u2019s in the Box auction along with many other interesting approaches.<\/p>\n<h4>Other Places to Look<\/h4>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>Ask academic departments! Some have funds set aside to assist students in funding learning opportunities within their discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Explore your hometown\/local resources. Are you part of a Church? A civic organization? Can you ask the Rotary club? Lions club? Legions?
