Interns\u2019 majors include:\u00a0Art, Music, Economics,\u00a0and\u00a0Management Studies\u00a0concentrators. Use this list to get started and to spark your creativity \u2013 there are numerous organizations not mentioned here that may also offer opportunities!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/pipercenter\/experiential-learning-opportunities-in-arts-management\/#How\">How can I find an internship?<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/pipercenter\/experiential-learning-opportunities-in-arts-management\/#Organizations\">Organizations where Oles have interned in the past<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/pipercenter\/experiential-learning-opportunities-in-arts-management\/#General\">General Resources<\/a><br \/>\n<a title=\"Experiential Learning Opportunities by Major\" href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/pipercenter\/experiential-learning-opportunities-by-field\/\"><em>Return to Experiential Learning Opportunities by Major &gt;&gt;<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<h2><a id=\"How\" name=\"How\"><\/a>How can I find an Internship?<\/h2>\n<h4>Search by Location<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose an area where you would like to live for an internship<\/li>\n<li>Visit the area\u2019s Chamber of Commerce website, which should have a local listing of arts organizations and venues<\/li>\n<li>Pick organizations that sound interesting and check out their websites<\/li>\n<li>Check out employment opportunities, usually under \u201cabout us\u201d or \u201cget involved\u201d<\/li>\n<li>If internships are not listed, send and e-mail. They will be able to tell you if seasonal, year-round, or part-time volunteer experiences are available. It never hurts to ask!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Look for Arts Festivals<\/h4>\n<p>Summer arts festivals across the country typically need seasonal, summer interns to make their festival run. You can find art festivals of all types including small, rural festivals, destination location or resort town festivals, or festivals associated and sponsored by professional arts organizations. Many even provide housing and a small stipend to offset any potential costs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Utilize online search engines. Google different variations of \u201carts festivals.\u201d If you look for music festivals, it is helpful to specify \u201cclassical music festival.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Newspapers often profile arts festivals. Look for past reviews and articles.<\/li>\n<li>Talk to friends involved in the arts. Ask if they have attended or participated in any festivals.<\/li>\n<li>Ask professors. They are likely aware of different festivals across the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Deadlines for these internships vary, but often occur from January until late March, so begin searching early.
