Fellows volunteer at outstanding organizations addressing social issues in Colombia and are enrolled in an ongoing training program for one year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.elca.org\/Our-Work\/Global-Church\/Global-Mission\/Young-Adults-in-Global-Mission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Provide ELCA young adults with a year-long international mission experience that focuses on accompaniment, or \u201cwalking together\u201d with others; to provide engaging and challenging opportunities that will result in young adults who are both globally formed and globally informed<br \/>\n\u2014 Argentina and Uruguay, Jerusalem\/West Bank, Malaysia, Mexico, Central\/Eastern Europe, South Africa, and United Kingdom<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.glma.gy\/become-a-teacher\">Guyana Lutheran Music Academy<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nAs a teacher through GLMA you will spend 10 months in New Amsterdam, Guyana, teaching keyboard, guitar, violin, chorus, brass, or percussion to Guyanese students of ages 12-adult. \u00a0You will have access to mentoring and curriculum support from experienced music educators and work in a collaborative teaching environment. The Executive Director and Founder of the program is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.glma.gy\/about#Staff\">Eric Sayre \u201910<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jesuitvolunteers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jesuit Volunteer Corps International<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Offers college graduates a two-year placement serving the elderly, street youth, abuse victims, mentally ill patients, and the physically disabled<br \/>\n\u2014 Belize, Micronesia, Nicaragua, Peru, and Tanzania<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mannaproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manna Project International<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fostering communities of young adults and encouraging them to use their passions and education in service to others. Volunteers serve as program directors as they work alongside leaders in the communities to ascertain and meet the community\u2019s specific needs<br \/>\n\u2014 Nicaragua and Ecuador; 13 months<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peacecorps.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peace Corps<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Live, learn, and work with a community overseas, providing technical assistance in six program areas: education, youth and community development, health, business and information and communications technology, agriculture, and environment<br \/>\n\u2014 77 countries; 27 months<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peacecorps.gov\/volunteer\/university-programs\/masters-international\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peace Corps Master\u2019s International Programs &#8211; <\/a>Allows Volunteers to incorporate Peace Corps service as credit in a master\u2019s degree program at more than 80 academic institutions nationwide<\/li>\n<li><a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peacecorps.gov\/volunteer\/university-programs\/coverdell-fellows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peace Corps Fellows\/USA &#8211; <\/a>Offers returned Volunteers scholarships or reduced tuition, stipends, and internships at more than 50 participating campuses in a variety of subject areas, combining graduate study with substantive, degree-related internships that help meet the needs of underserved American communities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sipaz.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Servicio Internacional para la Paz (SIPAZ)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volunteers\u00a0develop and maintain contact with a wide spectrum of actors involved in the conflict of Chiapas, Mexico, searching for opportunities to support initiatives working for its peaceful resolution. Modest compensation is offered, plus support for accomodation and food<br \/>\n\u2014 Chiapas, Mexico<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vsointernational.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A British service organization that offers 1-2 year volunteer placements in over 30 developing countries primarily in Africa and Asia. Volunteers are provided with a living allowance, accommodation, insurance and flights<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.viaprograms.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Volunteers in Asia Programs<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>VIA\u2019s one-year positions allow individuals to volunteer with underserved institutions to build English language capacity<br \/>\n\u2014 Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vfp.org\/\">Volunteers for Peace<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>VFP offers over 3000 projects in more than 100 countries each year. Our grassroots projects arise from the needs of the local community. Most projects are organized through our partner organization in another country. Most of our projects, about 80%, are short-term (2-3 weeks) and occur between May and September.
