Members lead teams of students in public high schools in preparing for college admission.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>City of Lakes AmeriCorps<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Minneapolis<br \/>\n<\/em>Website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/col.mpls.k12.mn.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">commed.mpls.k12.mn.us\/AmeriCorps.html<\/a><br \/>\nThe mission of the City of Lakes AmeriCorps program is to help ensure all children succeed both socially and academically regardless of race, culture, ethnicity, native language, gender, poverty level, disability, or any other status. Our goals are to help youth improve academic success, develop leadership skills, and increase assets. City of Lakes members are placed in the Minneapolis Public Schools to provide tutoring, mentoring, service-learning, and after school activities to K-12 students.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Community Technology Empowerment Project\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Minneapolis\/St. Paul<br \/>\n<\/em>Website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.technologypower.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.technologypower.org<br \/>\n<\/a>The Community Technology Empowerment Project mobilizes AmeriCorps members to bridge the digital divide, targeting the unique technology access and resource access needs of new immigrants. Members serve to develop culturally-appropriate outreach and training materials including computer education, public service announcements, and Web site development.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>LEAP\/AmeriCorps Initiative<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Southern Minnesota<br \/>\n<\/em>Website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smifoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.smifoundation.org<\/a><br \/>\nLEAP (Learning Early Achieves Potential)\/AmeriCorps Initiative will build social\/emotional school readiness skills of preschool children and support parents in learning dialogic reading techniques to build bonds within home routines for school readiness skills. Members will also engage community youth in service learning early childhood development and education so they realize how their strengths can contribute to building and sustaining the early childhood movement in southern Minnesota and how they can serve community by acting as positive role models and support for families with children, 0-5.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Minnesota Alliance with Youth<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service Area: Multiple locations statewide: Fergus Falls, Duluth, Twin Cities Metro Area, Rochester, and Worthington\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\nWebsite:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mnyouth.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.mnyouth.net<br \/>\n<\/a>The Minnesota Alliance with Youth hosts 60 Promise Fellows in schools and community organizations across the state. The Fellows\u2019 year of service focuses on the issue of educational equity. Members serve in communities to mobilize youth and adults to volunteer in mentoring, tutoring, leadership, and civic engagement programs. Through delivering the Five Promises of America\u2019s Promise, Fellows partner with communities to build enduring systems that promote civic engagement and academic success for all of Minnesota\u2019s children.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Minnesota Conservation Corps<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Statewide from a basecamp near Hinckley, Twin Cities Metro Area\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\nWebsite:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.conservationcorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.conservationcorps.org<br \/>\n<\/a>MCC Youth Programs engage AmeriCorps members as leaders for youth from diverse backgrounds as they complete community-service projects. The programs focus on youth development and job training, with environmental conservation as a learning vehicle. The combination of service projects and experiential education helps youth build practical skills, connect to the natural environment, and become active, empowered citizens in their local communities. In the residential Summer Youth Program, AmeriCorps members guide 85 youth through a summer of environmental service projects in rural areas. In the Youth Outdoors program, AmeriCorps members guide 50 youth through environmental service projects in the Twin Cities metro area during afterschool hours and weekends.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Minnesota Math Corps<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Saint Cloud Area<br \/>\n<\/em>Website:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/minnesotamathcorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/minnesotamathcorps.org\/<br \/>\n<\/a>Math Corps is a brand new AmeriCorps program starting this fall in St. Cloud. Be the first to serve in this exciting new program! Members will be intensively trained to work one-on-one and\/or in small groups with 4th-8th grade students who are not proficient in math.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Minnesota Reading Corps<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Multiple locations statewide including, but not limited to: Brainerd, Duluth, Grand Rapids, Mankato, Moorhead, Rochester, St. Cloud, Winona, and Twin Cities Metro Area<\/em><br \/>\nWeb site:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnesotareadingcorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.MinnesotaReadingCorps.org<br \/>\n<\/a>Minnesota Reading Corps members serve to increase the literacy skills of at-risk children age 3 to grade 3 by providing qualified, well-trained AmeriCorps members and community volunteers: to tutor children identified below target level who need extra help to improve their literacy skills. Members serve in Head, Start agencies, community-based preschools, and elementary schools.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Multicultural Communities in Action\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Minneapolis\/St. Paul<br \/>\n<\/em>Website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.commonbond.org\/americorps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.commonbond.org\/americorps<br \/>\n<\/a>AmeriCorps members serving with Multicultural Communities tutor children in public schools, alternative schools and non- profit programs, recruit volunteer tutors, or work in after-school programs.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Partners in Service to America<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Red Lake Reservation<\/em><br \/>\nWebsite:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redlakenationnews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.rlnn.com\/main\/AmeriCorpNew.html<br \/>\n<\/a>Partners in Service to America focuses on improving K-12 student academic achievement through tutoring, after-school programs and cultural activities. Members also mobilize community volunteers to meet community needs.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>True North AmeriCorps Program<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Northeastern Minnesota<br \/>\n<\/em>Website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.truenorthamericorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.truenorthamericorps.org<br \/>\n<\/a>True North AmeriCorps members enhance the future success of at-risk children by increasing the number of positive adults in their lives within tutoring, mentoring and after-school programs. Members are placed in both community-based and school-based organizations throughout Northeastern Minnesota.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and PPL\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Minneapolis\/St. Paul<\/em><br \/>\nWebsite:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tchabitat.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.tchabitat.org\/<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ppl-inc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.ppl-inc.org<br \/>\n<\/a>In a unique partnership between Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and Project for Pride in Living (PPL), members build, rehab, and repair homes in partnership with community volunteers and low-income families in the Twin Cities. AmeriCorps members also coordinate after-school youth programs and engage in community organizing.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Work in Progress<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Service area: Twin Cities Metro Area, St. Cloud Area, and Chisago County\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\nWebsite:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rise.org\/bridges-self-sufficiency-americorps-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.rise.org\/bridges-self-sufficiency-americorps-program<br \/>\n<\/a>Work in Progress is a program dedicated to serving immigrants and refugees, people with disabilities and others with significant barriers to employment.
