Students complete a full-time internship with a nonprofit organization in the Twin Cities while participating in leadership development activities.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><h5 class=\"collapseomatic \" id=\"id69e4c9b6a01d4\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"Program Summary and Dates\"    >Program Summary and Dates<\/h5><div id=\"target-id69e4c9b6a01d4\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \"><\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> Sunday, February 15, 2026 @ 11:59 pm<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong> Current Sophomore or Junior (Class of 2028 or 2027)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Housing (free):<\/strong> Living at the Oren Gateway Center of Augsburg University in Minneapolis<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a required part of the program. Participants will have their own room and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will share a kitchen, living room, and bathroom with the other participants. Parking passes are available for a fee.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Stipend:<\/strong> $3500<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Program Dates:<\/strong> Saturday, May 30 &#8211; Friday, July 31, 2026<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Move-In Date:<\/strong> Saturday, May 30<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Orientation:<\/strong> Monday, June 1<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Internships Start Date:<\/strong> Tuesday, June 2<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Move-Out Date:<\/strong> Friday, July 31 (option to stay at Augsburg longer)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SIS Internship Options: <\/strong>Students who are accepted into the SIS program will have the opportunity to interview for unique program internships that are not available to other students. SIS program directors will identify a wide range of potential internships related to research, public policy, marketing\/communications, program development, community engagement, grant writing, direct service, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Community Living<br \/><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live on a residence hall floor at Augsburg University in the Twin Cities with other SIS interns, suite-style, as well as other St. Olaf students pursuing summer internships. Please note that <strong>this form is ONE of THREE required components of the application<\/strong>. Please also note that internship options will continue to be updated until February 6, so we <strong>encourage you to wait to complete the internship site preference part of the application<\/strong> until that time (and prior to 2\/15, the application deadline).<\/li>\n<li>Apply on Handshake (<a href=\"https:\/\/stolaf.joinhandshake.com\/edu\/jobs\/10585753\">click here<\/a>) by submitting your resume<\/li>\n<li>Have a faculty member submit a recommendation form (<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/TzHEtZuaeMTQ6gTU7\">click here<\/a>) on your behalf. Send your faculty an email with the link to the recommendation form to ensure they can complete it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<h5 class=\"collapseomatic \" id=\"id69e4c9b6a0367\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"Selection Process and Timeline\"    >Selection Process and Timeline<\/h5><div id=\"target-id69e4c9b6a0367\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>By December 19 &#8211; <\/strong>all SIS application materials (see above) will be available for applicants to access.<\/li>\n<li><strong>By February 6<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; internship options will be finalized\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>February 15 <\/strong>&#8211; all SIS applications are due and must be complete in order to be considered for the program.<\/li>\n<li><strong>By February<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>20 &#8211; <\/strong>select applicants will be invited to sign up for interviews.<\/li>\n<li><strong>February 23 &amp; 24 <\/strong>&#8211; SIS interviews will take place<\/li>\n<li><strong>February 25 &#8211; <\/strong>Notifications will begin to be sent to SIS applicants regarding selection to participate in the program. All students who receive an offer to participate on Wednesday, February 25, must accept or decline by Friday, February 27.<\/li>\n<li><strong>After March 2 &#8211; <\/strong>SIS participants will have a chance to rerank their internship preferences. Program directors will invite each student to apply and interview for 2-3 internships. Students will be placed with specific internships based on the preferences of both the students and the employers.
