Corps members may work with children ranging from grade 3 to grade 9. \u00a0 (24 cities)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.collegepossible.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">College\u00a0Possible<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Helping low-income young people earn admission to and succeed in college. AmeriCorps members\u00a0directly as high school and college coaches, and also help build the organization\u2019s capacity by planning events, fundraising and supporting public relations. (Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Omaha and Portland)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.conservationcorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Conservation Corps<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Each year Conservation Corps places individuals with conservation nonprofits and government agencies. These members serve full-time at a host site for their entire term of service. Service from January through December. \u00a0(Minnesota and Iowa)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/foodcorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Food Corps<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>FoodCorps service members teach\u00a0children about what healthy food is and where it comes from, build\u00a0and tend school gardens and bring\u00a0quality local food into public school cafeterias. \u00a0(15 states)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.habitat.org\/volunteer\/long-term-opportunities\/americorps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Habitat for Humanity<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Members engage directly with volunteers, partner families and the communities they serve. They\u00a0help build, renovate and repair houses, work in partnership with partner families to help them apply for housing, or recruit and mobilize Habitat volunteers. \u00a0(26 states)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/healthcorps.org\/get-involved\/coordinator-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Health Corps<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Coordinators becomes a full-time health advocate for their high school sites and its surrounding community. \u00a0Coordinators teach daily classroom lessons based on the HealthCorps Curriculum, organize and facilitate after school programming, provide staff and parent outreach and hold school-wide and community-wide events. (13 states)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisc.org\/our-initiatives\/community-leadership\/lisc-americorps\/apply-serve\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) AmeriCorps<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Helping to develop affordable housing, provide home ownership counseling to prospective first-time low-income homebuyers, and participate in community building activities within neighborhoods \u2014 15 sites in 12 states<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ladeltacorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Louisiana Delta Service Corps\u00a0<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>AmeriCorps members perform vital services in neighborhoods and communities in the areas of education, health, and housing needs<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalhealthcorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Health Corps<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Helping to fulfill unmet healthcare needs and to decrease disparities in the local healthcare system \u2014 Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; and North Florida<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/newsector.org\/overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>New Sector Alliance\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>11-month fellowship program for emerging leaders committed to careers in social impact. Fellows serve full-time to strengthen nonprofit organizations, while engaging in intensive professional development activities to strengthen their skills for immediate and future impact. \u2014 Twin Cities, Boston, San Francisco and Chicago (25 total fellows)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.playworks.org\/jobs\/school-openings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PlayWorks<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Seeks to improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play \u2014 Detroit, MI; Newark, NJ; San Francisco, CA; Silicon Valley, CA; St. Paul, MN, and Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.publicallies.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Public Allies<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Seeks to advance new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation; identifies diverse young adults and prepares them for leadership through paid full-time nonprofit apprenticeships and rigorous leadership training \u2014 20 states<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/togetherwetransform.org\/capacitycorps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Dedicated to increasing the capacity of grassroots nonprofit agencies to assist low-income homeowners in need \u2014 33 sites in 20 states\u00a0<em>* this is not a comprehensive list of all AmeriCorps*National Programs<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>City Year Members work on teams to focus on addressing the high school drop out rate in specifically high drop-out rate areas.
