[Headshot appointments are only available during the academic year]\n<h3>Write a strong headline<\/h3>\n<p>Draft a short description of who you are and what you do. \u00a0Your headline will be the first piece of information that people see, other than your photo. \u00a0Use your headline to leverage your skills, interests, and aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of headlines include \u201cRecent\u00a0St. Olaf Grad Seeking Online Marketing Position\u201d or \u201cSt.\u00a0Olaf Psychology Major\/Student Government Senator\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/business.linkedin.com\/marketing-solutions\/blog\/best-practices--thought-leadership\/2018\/add-punch-to-your-linkedin-profile-using-these-examples-as-inspi\">LinkedIn Headline Examples\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Draft a \u201csummary\u201d section<\/h3>\n<p>Write this section in the first person, using the word \u201cI.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0Structure your summary around the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WHO are you?<\/strong> What is at your core that relates to your career path? What are you currently doing that relates to this field? Include a recent or current internship, volunteer or project work in your area of interest, and unique qualities or characteristics, including deep beliefs about your field (e.g. \u201cI am a firm believer in excellent education for everyone, regardless of their background.\u201d)<\/li>\n<li><strong>WHAT experiences have you had?<\/strong> What are skills that will prepare you for the field you want to enter? Use keywords specific to the job or field. Keep this section short. Your resume will provide the details.<\/li>\n<li><strong>WHERE will you go next?<\/strong> End with career-related goals for the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Create a personalized URL<\/h3>\n<p>Click \u201cEdit your public profile\u201d to the right of your profile. On the right side of the screen, find and click on \u201cCustomize your public profile URL.\u201d The window below will open and give you the option to change your URL. Choose a concise URL to place on your resume, email signature, and\/or business card.<\/p>\n<h3>Add recommendations<\/h3>\n<p>Consider including strong, helpful recommendations from faculty, supervisors, or campus advisors.
