Research these companies thoroughly and effectively through employer websites, online newspapers, business journals, LinkedIn, and social media.\u00a0 This will help guide your inquiries and allow you to highlight your related skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Create a Calendar Reminder<\/strong><br \/>\nEvents can always slip your mind.\u00a0 Set calendar reminders for the day before and two hours before.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prepare Your Introduction<\/strong><br \/>\nPrepare a quick introduction about yourself that is approximately 30 seconds long.\u00a0 The introduction may include details about your education, work experiences, relevant skills and future goals.\u00a0 Use the Piper Center <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/pipercenter\/how-to-guides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How-To Guides<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/pipercenter\/how-to-guides\/interview-guide\/questions\/tell-me-about-yourself\/how-do-you-prepare-a-benefit-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Benefit Statement Guide<\/a> to help you prepare.\u00a0 Your introductions should be between 30-40 seconds long.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dress Appropriately<\/strong><br \/>\nEmployers at this event will expect business professional dress &#8211; for both the in-person and virtual fairs.\u00a0 You will also feel energized and ready for the fair by dressing as if you will be attending an in-person event.\u00a0 Not sure what to wear?\u00a0 Review the <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/pipercenter\/how-to-guides\/interview-guide\/clothes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">professional dress guide<\/a> for initial information.\u00a0 The Piper Center welcomes any students who are unsure about appropriate dress or who may have individual question to speak with a coach through an appointment or email.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.\u00a0 \u00a0FOR VIRTUAL FAIR: Have Your Application Materials in Order and Test Your Internet and Video Connections<\/strong><br \/>\nHave your resume and any other documents you may need uploaded and available on your computer desktop for easy access.\u00a0 Ensure that your internet connection is functioning and that your audio\/video is working properly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.\u00a0 \u00a0FOR\u00a0 VIRTUAL FAIR: Identify Where You Will &#8220;Attend&#8221; the Fair<\/strong><br \/>\nThink about where you will be during the virtual fair.\u00a0 Ensure the location is quiet, free of distraction (expected or unexpected!), has a professional looking background, and is well-lit.\u00a0 You may even wish to test your spot to make sure that you appear as professional as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Keep Organized<\/strong><br \/>\nOrganize your company information and your contact information.\u00a0 Create a spreadsheet or document where you can easily input information about the connections you make or the companies to which you submitted your resume.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Send Thank You Notes<\/strong><br \/>\nWithin 24 hours of the event, send concise and well-written thank you emails to all individuals that you made contact. you to formally apply for a role?\u00a0 Perhaps you were asked to take an assessment?\u00a0 Or sign up for a first-round interview?\u00a0 Make sure that you follow-through on what was asked of you as
