Students and recent graduates meet virtually with their corporate mentor twice a month, network with Fortune 1000 companies, attend professional development webinars, and receive job notifications throughout the year. NextGen Leaders may also apply to attend the Disability:IN Annual Summer Conference.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limeconnect.com\/fellowship\">The Lime Connect<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limeconnect.com\/fellowship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fellowship program<\/a> is a summer opportunity for rising juniors. Apply in early spring semester (January &#8211; February) of your sophomore year. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limeconnect.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lime Connect<\/a> also offers other professional development opportunities for students and new professionals.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrp.gov\/wrp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (WRP) connects employers nationwide with highly motivated college students and recent graduates with disabilities for both summer positions and permanent employment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aapd.com\/what-we-do\/employment\/internship-program\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) internship program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> offers college students challenging, paid internships in Washington, D.C. (application deadline in November for the following summer)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aaas.org\/programs\/entry-point\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry Point!<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; offers paid internships for students in STEM majors through partners including IBM, NASA, Texas Instruments, JPMorgan Chase, and the National Science Foundation. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, applications for summer internships are accepted beginning in September.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usra.edu\/educational-activities-and-opportunities\/internships\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Undergraduate Student Research Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, sponsored by The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/usicd.org\/internship-program\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">U.S. International Council on Disabilities Youth in Development Internship Program<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Interns receive career development opportunities, attend congressional hearings, and learn about many government agencies. Interns receive a stipend, Travel expenses, and accessible housing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limeconnect.com\/fellowship\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lime Connect Fellowship Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; fellowship program for rising juniors with disabilities. Apply during winter\/early spring of your sophomore year.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Networking Resources &amp; Professional Associations<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Meeting people who share your interests and developing a relationship with them is referred to as networking, and is an important part of any career exploration process.
