The St. Olaf Emergency Medical Technicians (SOEMT) will work cooperatively with Public Safety when medical assistance is needed on campus. SOEMT will be dispatched to medical calls immediately after Public Safety Officers have been notified. The Public Safety Advisory Committee&#8217;s purpose is to enhance the relationship between the St. Olaf Community and the Department of Public Safety by providing insight into Public Safety projects and initiatives.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-content-block c-content-block--3\">\n\t\t\t\t<figure  class=\"c-content-block__img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" alt=\"walking2\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/publicsafety\/files\/2021\/04\/walking2.jpg\" sizes=\"(min-width: 960px) 50vw, \n100vw\" srcset=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"c-content-block__preview u-cc-purple\">\n\t\t\t\t\tCommunity Services Officers (CSOs): \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-content-block__wrap u-cc-purple\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-content-block__content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"c-content-block__title\">Community Services Officers (CSOs): <\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"c-content-block__desc\"><p>Community Service Officers are students who assist Public Safety with academic building security, on campus walking escorts for students concerned about their personal safety, visitor parking permits and special events. The CSO Program is staffed entirely by students under the direction of the Public Safety Department. The program operates from 7:00pm to 1:00am each day classes are in session during the academic year. Escorts may be arranged by calling x3666.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-content-block c-content-block--4\">\n\t\t\t\t<figure  class=\"c-content-block__img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" alt=\"computer\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/publicsafety\/files\/2021\/04\/computer.jpg\" sizes=\"(min-width: 960px) 50vw, \n100vw\" srcset=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"c-content-block__preview u-cc-teal\">\n\t\t\t\t\tDispatchers: \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-content-block__wrap u-cc-teal\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-content-block__content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"c-content-block__title\">Dispatchers: <\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"c-content-block__desc\"><p>During the academic year, 24-hour coverage is maintained by students hired to work in Public Safety as dispatchers.\u00a0 These students provide a link between members of the community needing assistance and the services Public Safety provides. Dispatchers answer the main phone line for St. Olaf College Public Safety, dispatch officers and St. Olaf Emergency Medical Technicians (SOEMTs) over the radio, and maintain accurate records using Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) software.
