Indeed, there are no courses that one must take as a religion major even in one\u2019s second year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">*However, it makes good sense to take a Religion, Faith and Values OLE Core course in one&#8217;s first year and a Christian Theology in Dialogue course and a variety of other 200-level courses including REL 285, \u201cWhat is Religion?\u201d during one\u2019s second and\/or third year. Ideally, by the time majors are entering the spring semester of their third year or their fourth year, they will be taking 300-level courses and seminars. (For more information on pathways through the major, see the department website.)<\/p>\n<h6>CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS COURSEWORK<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>It is rare for incoming students to receive credit for previous coursework.
