This seminar asks whether they deliver it. Students will examine theological claims about the relationship between God and humanity, interrogating descriptions of human nature, sin, law, grace, and salvation. Engaging constructive theologies and critical theory, readings and topics will draw on a range of figures, such as: Martin Luther, Kathryn Tanner, Kelly Brown Douglas, James Baldwin, Rahel Jaeggi, and Quill Kukla.
