amount of scholarship awarded.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All students must complete the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScfnq7Ss-O7JURlLGK1plNMHKcSBylJ8BMQNCTaH-159zItBQ\/viewform?usp=dialog\"><b>Study Abroad\/Away Cancellation Form<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to officially withdraw from a program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Prior to Departure:<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students are subject to the program partner\u2019s refund policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students should carefully review the withdrawal, refund, and cancellation policies prior to signing any housing or participation agreement..\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students are also responsible for any non-recoverable costs (e.g. tuition, program fees, housing, confirmation deposits) paid on a student\u2019s behalf by St. Olaf. St. Olaf will refund all recoverable costs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">St. Olaf cannot reimburse out-of-pocket expenses (e.g. visa, passport, airfare, transportation). Be mindful of nonrefundable expenses<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If St. Olaf cancels a program, no cancellation penalties will be assessed to any participant.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students should meet with Smith Center to discuss nonrecoverable out-of-pocket expenses.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No refunds will be made to students who do not meet program deadlines or follow visa process timelines and best practices outlined in the Smith Center post-acceptance paperwork and communicated by their program (if applicable).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Academic and Disciplinary Standing:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing for the semester prior to studying abroad\/away. If a student is on academic notice or has an outstanding disciplinary sanction at the end of the semester prior to departure, they will be withdrawn from the program.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students who are withdrawn due to being on academic notice will be subject to any program partner cancellation fees and unrecoverable costs. The student <\/span><b>must<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provide a doctor\u2019s statement verifying that the student is medically unable to participate in the program.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conditional Acceptances (based on academic performance in a prerequisite course or probationary status) for a January Term program will be assessed at Fall Break. At the time of cancellation, if a student has not yet been billed the program fee, cancellation fees will be added to the student account as described above.
