Domestic Health Insurance

2021-2022 Domestic Student Health Insurance

It is St. Olaf policy that all students enrolled at the College have health insurance coverage. This requirement is in place for the protection of our students.

If you are not covered under a comparable health insurance policy, you will be required to participate in the student insurance plan which is offered through LewerMark in collaboration with First Student and United Health Care Student Resources.

All students must complete the online student health insurance form EACH YEAR, whether enrolling or waiving.  The deadline to waive the student health insurance for the fall semester is 11:59 pm Wednesday, September 22, 2021.  The deadline for spring semester is 11:59 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2022.

If the form has not been completed prior to that time, the student will be automatically enrolled in the St. Olaf insurance policy and the $2,438 premium will be non-refundable. The waiver needs to only be submitted once per academic year. We encourage you to review your current health insurance policy with your parents to ensure that it sufficiently covers you while pursuing your academic interests at St. Olaf.

You have the option to enroll yourself in the plan if you need to receive your health insurance card before the end of the enrollment period.  This will confirm to the insurance company that you are not planning on waiving the insurance.

Waiver Instructions

Please note that it may take more than a week for the charge on your student account to be reversed.  You will receive a confirmation from the First Student/UHC that your waiver was submitted, but it may take a week for the insurance company to determine if it’s a valid policy.  The insurance company will reach out to you to correct any issues with your waiver.

  2. Click on the Waive button
  3. Enter in the required information and a valid alternative health insurance policy.
