Food Service

‘Coming together’ as a campus community in the café dining room is an important part of college life at St. Olaf. For this reason, students who live on campus will eat their meals in college food service facilities. Students living in the honor houses will participate with the food program by selecting one of four meal plans. Students who live off campus can choose to participate in the food program by selecting any one of the four meal plans available to the honor house students.

St. Olaf’s food service program is operated by Bon Appétit Management Company. This professional company specializes in preparing food from scratch and presenting it in its freshest form possible. Every meal is viewed as important. Every customer is viewed as a guest of the college. The menus are custom-made to meet today’s student needs. Food surveys, food comment cards, and food committee meetings are all used to keep the menu current. Regular theme meals are planned to enhance the program, educate, celebrate and honor diversity. The staff and management are here to serve every student’s food needs.

Your bar-coded picture ID card must be presented to the checker at each meal for entrance to the dining room.

Students with medical problems requiring special diets should consult with the general manager to accommodate their special dietary needs. Please bring your letter and prescribed diet from your physician when you meet with the general manager.

Arrangements for picnics, special group meals and banquets can be made in the food service office, located on the green level of the Buntrock Commons. The office is off the east corridor behind the Café/bakery.

Guests are always welcome. Guest meals may be purchased at the entrance to the dining room.

Take only the amount of food that you can eat, and please eat what you take. Let’s work together to overcome the habit of consistent waste.
