The Dean of Students or their designee may remove from college housing or suspend from the college a student pending conduct proceedings or other outcome. The interim removal from college housing and\/or suspension will become immediately effective without prior notice. Interim suspension will be considered an excused absence.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Interim suspension generally will be imposed in circumstances including but not limited to:\n
      \n
    1. Ensure the safety and well-being of members of the college community or preservation of college property<\/li>\n
    2. Ensure the student\u2019s own physical or emotional safety and well-being<\/li>\n
    3. Avoid the threat of disruption of or interference with the normal operations of the college<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. During the interim suspension, students will be denied access to the residence halls and\/or the campus (including classes) and\/or all other college activities or privileges for which the student might otherwise be eligible, as the Dean of Students or their designee may determine to be appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      A student suspended or removed from college housing on an interim basis will be given the opportunity to appear personally before the Dean of Students or their designee within five business days from the effective date of the interim suspension or removal from college housing to discuss the following issues only:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. The reliability of the information concerning the student\u2019s conduct, including the matter of their identity<\/li>\n
      2. Whether the conduct and surrounding circumstances reasonably indicates that the continued presence of the student on college premises poses a substantial and immediate threat to themself or others or to the stability and continuance of normal college functions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The Dean of Students or their designee will have authority to determine whether, in light of information presented by the affected student, the interim suspension will continue.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n
