Mental Wellness

The Wellness Center is committed to destigmatizing mental health. We take a public health approach to mental wellness, with a specific focus on increasing stress management skills and awareness of mental health resources.

Mental wellness can be defined as the state of well-being in which the individual realizes their own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their community.

Mental wellness themes include recognizing positive and negative feelings, coping mechanisms, stress management, communication skills, self-esteem, adjustments to college, homesickness, connection with the community, and balancing responsibilities.
