Assistant Director of Wellness and Health Promotions
The Assistant Director of Wellness and Health Promotion serves as a resource for all students regarding education, information, resources, and prevention strategies within the 8- dimensions of wellness, and also provides guidance and training to faculty and staff. Oversees the administrative and supervisory responsibilities for the peer educators and Wellness Center while providing training and professional development to peer educators. Serves on the Title IX Education and Prevention Subcommittee and the Mental Health Leadership group.
Peer educators promote awareness and educational programs on healthy lifestyle choices to St. Olaf College students. Peer educators have office hours, providing students with opportunities for a safe and private conversation about a variety of areas related to wellness. Each peer educator collaborates with departments and offices throughout campus gives one presentation every month on a chosen topic.
Our wellness center student coordinator, facilitates bi-weekly executive meetings with lead peer educators and the marketing and communications coordinator, and manages session reports, the wellness calendar, program requests, and other related tasks. Our marketing and communications coordinator designs Toilet Talks, maintains our social media presence, and creates monthly wellness related print and media resources to engage the campus community. Both student coordinators are trained peer educators and hold weekly office hours.
