Job Description
The Web Writer will work closely with staff members in the Marketing and Communications Office to compose news stories for the St. Olaf home page. He/she may also write pieces for the college’s alumni magazine and other marketing materials. In addition, he/she will assist with editing web pages across the college’s site and maintaining the department’s photo database.
Skills Needed
Students applying for this position must have strong writing and editing skills. They also need to be adept at communicating with others and must be comfortable conducting interviews with students, faculty, and alumni. They must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and be detail-oriented. A general knowledge of photography is a plus.

Social Media Assistant
Job Description
The Social Media Assistant will work closely with staff members in the Marketing and Communications Office to help generate content for — and manage — the college’s social media channels.
Skills Needed
Students applying for this position should consider themselves an early adopter of social media. They must know and use a variety of social media channels — such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. — and have an engaged following of their own. They must have strong writing and editing skills, as well as an ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Video and photography skills are a plus.
