Intended Learning Outcomes

A student who completes the SOC Nursing Program will be able to:

EO 1. Synthesize knowledge from the liberal arts into baccalaureate generalist nursing practice.
EO 2. Design safe patient care strategies utilizing quality improvement principles and appropriate health care resources.
EO 3. Utilize evidence-based information in the provision of effective patient care.
EO 4. Use informatics in effectively managing patient care.
EO 5. Use knowledge of healthcare organizations, finance mechanisms, and regulatory agencies within an ethical framework
to advocate for patients and the profession.
EO 6. Utilize effective communication and collaboration with patients and inter-professional healthcare teams.
EO 7. Integrate health promotion and disease prevention interventions at the individual, family, community, and population level.
EO 8. Demonstrate professionalism in nursing practice.
EO 9. Integrate holistic, patient-centered care into the professional practice of nursing for patients across the lifespan.
