Money Magazine ranks St. Olaf No. 6 on “10 Best Liberal Arts Colleges” list

In its list of “The 10 Best Liberal Arts Colleges,” Money Magazine ranks St. Olaf College at No. 6.

The list features the top-scoring liberal arts schools in Money’s latest college ranking, which analyzed the quality, affordability, and outcomes of more than 600 four-year colleges.

“Studying the liberal arts can prepare students to be critical thinkers and persuasive communicators. Instead of training students for a specific path into the job market, a liberal arts education is designed to get grads ready to succeed in a variety of careers,” the magazine notes.

That preparation can have a significant payoff for graduates, Money notes. According to a Georgetown University study of more than 4,500 colleges and universities, St. Olaf graduates saw a million-dollar boost in career lifetime earnings over someone with a high school diploma, placing the college among the top 15 percent of institutions measured.

And St. Olaf is committed to making this exceptional education affordable. St. Olaf is one of just three institutions in Minnesota and one of 80 in the United States to meet the demonstrated financial need of 100 percent of admitted students, and 99 percent of students receive a merit scholarship or need-based grant.

St. Olaf has earned high marks in other prominent college rankings this year, placing in the Princeton Review’s Top 50 Best Value Colleges, and coming in at No. 62 on U.S. News’ list of top national liberal arts colleges.
