I want a college that cares about me, supports me, and connects me with a network of knowledgeable, caring alums who want me to succeed. I want to be one of the 3,000 students living, studying, and hanging out on campus. Community? In college? Couldn’t be me. What future do you envision? I want to build a meaningful career and discover what I’m passionate about. Ideally, my college will help me develop my strengths, explore my interests, and prepare me for my future endeavors. I just want a job— don’t care what it is. Eh, I don’t know, I can just vibe. How important is affordability to you? I’m looking for the best return on my investment: a place where I can get financial aid and scholarships while also getting a top-tier education. I don’t care about quality as much – whatever’s the cheapest. I have to pay for this? What kind of experiences are you looking for? I want valuable life experiences that make an impact and that I can add to my resume—things like internships, research with professors, leadership opportunities, and study abroad. I’m interested in activities and career prep experiences, but beyond going to class I’m not ready to think about this yet! I might show up for a class or two. How do you feel about seeing the world? My passport is ready! I want to study abroad—and graduate on time—without worrying about extra fees or hidden costs. It sounds interesting, but I’m a little nervous about traveling far from home. I only want to travel as far as the cafeteria and back. How active do you like to be? I probably need a college that offers at least 200 clubs and organizations. It would be awesome to continue the activities I love, but I’m also open to shopping around for new interests, too! It would be even better if everyone would live on campus with me so we can connect with each other easily. I like the activities I already do, and it would be great if my college offers them too. I’ll be in my (dorm) room, making no noise and pretending that I don’t exist. What is your ideal classroom experience? I want to learn in small classes with professors and classmates who challenge me, support me, and get to know me outside of the classroom. Bonus points for professors who want to do research with me! As long as I’m learning the material, it’s okay if I work with a TA or sit in a giant lecture hall. I don’t think it’s important that I get to know my community. Honestly? I’d rather tune in virtually.
