Ardythe “Ann” Rolstad MacIlravie ’63
Ann writes: “As Bob Louis said, not much has changed in our lives the past two years either. We did buy a townhouse in Gillette, Wyo., anticipating an eventual move from the ranch, but we’re in no hurry to leave the peace and quiet out here. Our son and family live in Gillette and it’s convenient for medical care, shopping, etc.
I’ve been reading about aging and what it means and like this quote from Robert Raines in A Time to Live: Seven Tasks of Creative Aging. “We must each confront certain issues: waking up to mortality, embracing sorrow, savoring blessedness, re-imagining work, nurturing intimacy, seeking forgiveness, and taking on the mysterious process of exploring what is yet to be done in life with a sense of possibility and hope.”
With that in mind, I’ve really enjoyed the notes from classmates with updates on your lives, and conversation about retirement/aging/life changes. If after reading these notes you would like to participate in the conversation, please send me a note. I can email a supplement to the newsletter, which can also be posted on the St. Olaf web site. About a third of our class has not shared an email address. If you know of anyone who would like to be added to my list, please pass the message on.
God be with you ‘til we meet again!”
