In August 2014, Carl Albing was appointed Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Computer Science Department at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. Carl received his Ph.D. degree in 2012 in Computer Science from the University of Reading in England. He and his wife, Cynthia Sorenson Albing ’78, will be dividing their time between Annapolis and Saint Paul, Minn. for the next two years.

For the next two years, Carl Albing will be in Annapolis, Md. as a Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Computer Science Department of the US Naval Academy.  Carl and his wife, Cynthia Sorenson Albing ’78 heard the Navy Band play.  Following the concert, they asked if any Oles were in the band and found that clarinet player Lauren Cook ’09 was.
