In 2013, Karen Onarheim Nordstrom received the “Outstanding Dedication to Local Public Health Award” at the annual meeting of the Minnesota State Community Health Services Advisory Committee for her work in tobacco legislation in her community. She was the first city council person in the state to receive this award.
