In May 2014, Michael Tveite was awarded the Deming Medal by the American Society for Quality. The Deming Medal is presented to an individual for leadership in combining statistical thinking and management that leads to quality in products and services. The citation for Mike’s award says, “For masterful explanation of Deming’s ideas to diverse audiences; and for teaching and use of statistical thinking in his roles as consultant and manager.”
