Harold Brown ’55
Harold Brown writes: “I have lived in Mexico now for 13 years. My wife, Edwyna Evenson Brown ’56, and I lived in Guadalajara the first year. We taught English and music at a boys’ orphanage two days a week and at a school for disadvantaged girls two days a week. In addition, I was interim pastor at All Saints Lutheran Church in Guadalajara.
After moving to Ajijic we continued these ministries in Guadalajara for two more years, driving in five times a week. Then we transferred our ministries to the Ajijic area, by Lake Chapala. We joined St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, where Edwyna was assistant organist and sang in the choir. She was also very involved with the Los Cantantes del Logo Community Choir. I have been a volunteer on the pastoral staff at St. Andrew’s. I also became very active in Rotary. I was President of the Ajijic Rotary Club from 2004-2005. I am now Chaplain/Vice President/President Elect for 2015. We have done over $1,000,000 worth of projects to help the local poor and needy since 2004.”
