Join the Chicago Regional Alumni Chapter as local historian, Jack MacRae, leads us in an intriguing virtual discussion about the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
This year marks the 130th anniversary of the first world’s fair held in Chicago which brought more than 27 million visitors to Jackson Park over a six-month period in 1893. This talk will examine the historical importance of this monumental event that stunned the entire world during the Gilded Age. Jack MacRae is a local historian who has taught numerous classes on topics such as the Chicago Stockyards, Chicago archaeology, and Chicago’s cultural and natural history.
