Unity Ball: A Welcome Celebration

The Unity Ball is a collaborative effort between Eritaj House alongside the International Student Organization, with the aim of celebrating the diversity of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities and various cultures. This gala seeks to unite individuals in an atmosphere that values and showcases the richness of different heritages through a blend of food, music, art, and performances.
By creating a space for cultural appreciation and understanding, the gala intends to promote inclusivity, foster cross-cultural dialogue, and strengthen community ties at St. Olaf. The event is organized by the Taylor Center Townhouses (Eritaj, Lavender, and Marly Boone’s) and the International Student Organization, with a primary focus on enhancing community outreach and engagement within the campus.
Through its diverse array of activities, the BIPOC & Multicultural Gala aims to serve as a platform for individuals to not only share their cultural traditions and experiences but also to learn from one another. By highlighting the beauty and significance of various heritages, the event seeks to create a sense of belonging and unity among attendees, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and culturally rich environment within the St. Olaf community.
The BIPOC & Multicultural Gala is envisioned as an annual event that the organizers aim to host each year. By establishing this gala as a recurring tradition, the goal is to create a consistent platform for celebrating diversity, fostering cultural understanding, and strengthening community bonds at St. Olaf.
