Global Social Work - Personal and Professional Responsibilities of Advocacy

Our main goal with this meeting is to create space for a conversation about ethical advocacy on a global scale, using the core values of social work as guiding principles. We’ll begin with a brief overview of what global Social Work looks like, how it functions, and the ethics behind it. Then, we will explore the current and past responses that social workers have had in times of global conflict. As the ethics of the profession have been extremely problematic throughout its history, there are many harmful responses that we can learn from and carry with us today as we work towards informed, person centered, and ethical advocacy for all.
