Mental Health Resilience Overview for Faculty/Staff

This presentation is designated for professionals looking to have a basic understanding of how to manage their own mental health and support others while navigating a busy life at work and home. Mental Health and Wellbeing is important for individuals across all stages of life, different fields of study and work, as well as various cultural identities. Being able to identify signals that let us know we may be struggling as well as signals that tell us we are doing well, helps to build resilience and confidence in managing our own mental health. In this workshop, participants will learn how to recognize signs and quick and easy strategies to help increase ability to recognize, emotionally regulate, and respond to our own struggles. Participants walk away with practical CBT skills including grounding techniques, emotion recognition, the cognitive triangle, as well as DBT skills that include IMPROVE, leaves on a stream, and DEARMAN.
