Boogie down with friends this Valentine’s Day! Celebrating the opening of UPRISING VIII and Techniques for Ecstasy, the Flaten Art Museum is thrilled to host a dance party featuring student DJs and live video projection.
Techniques for Ecstasy (February 14 – April 6) features new work by Minneapolis artist Alexandra Beaumont. Her artistic practice explores the expressive power and possibility of dance through large-scale textile collages and exuberant parties. UPRISING VIII (February 7-28) uplifts Black expression through the visual and performing arts. An annual student-curated exhibition at St. Olaf, this year’s curators are Jan-Rose Davis ’25, Ariel Edwards ’26, Bassaa Tufaa ’25, and Queenie Wynter ’25, with mentorship from artist Alexandra Beaumont.
