St. Olaf Jazz I at Crooners Supper Club

St. Olaf Jazz I, under the direction of Dr. Joseph Jefferson, presents an evening of music at Crooners Lounge and Supper Club in Minneapolis, MN on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale and we encourage you to secure them now! Dr. Jefferson joined St. Olaf as the college’s first tenure-track jazz conductor this fall, and this concert marks his first public performance as conductor of St. Olaf Jazz I. The program will feature the works of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Joe Henderson, John Clayton, Herbie Hancock, Berry Gordy, and Roy Hargrove among others, and will prove to be an evening of soulful and enriching performances.

Tickets are available for parties ranging from 1–6 people in table seating, VIP table seating, and 4-person booths. Tickets range from $15–25 per person. For parties of more than 6, please email boxoffice@croonersloungemn.com.

St. Olaf Jazz I is the premier large jazz ensemble at St. Olaf College. Composed of 21 members, the award-winning band is led by Dr. Joseph Jefferson. The jazz program is home to two ensembles that perform both on and off-campus concerts every academic year. These versatile groups perform in a variety of musical styles including swing, be-bop, fusion, funk, salsa and Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and traditional jazz idioms. Dr. Jefferson, director and trombonist, is an award-winning educator that currently serves as associate professor of music and director of the jazz ensembles and applied jazz trombone program at St. Olaf College.
